The Circular Textile Initiative is run by the Gothenburg region, Re:Textile, Wargön Innovation and the Swedish Fashion Council. The efforts of combined organizations enables us to come up with new and innovative solutions to promote circular textile flows in order to save thousands of tons of textiles each year and reduce our environmental impact.
The initiative is a necessary measure considering the average Swede disposes of more than 7.5kg clothes each year. Roughly 60% of these clothes are in good condition and could be recycled. Source. The project is supported by Västra Götalandsregionen, Avfall Sverige and Vinnova through the initiative Innovate Passion.
